Sri Guruvayurappan Temple, situated in Houston, Texas, is a magnificent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan (Sri Krishna). The main deity of the temple is Lord Krishna, depicted in the form of Sri Guruvayurappan. The idol of Lord Krishna is made of a rare black stone called Patala Anjana, which is said to possess healing properties. Additionally, the temple houses idols of other deities such as Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappa, Devi Durga, Lord Shiva, and Nava Graha. The idol is adorned with beautiful decorations and jewelry, which are changed regularly to keep the deity looking fresh and beautiful. The temple opens daily at 6:00 AM and closes at 10:00 AM / 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM on week days and on week ends from 6:00 AM and closes at 1:00 PM / 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM, and devotees can offer various rituals like Abhishekam, Archana, and Pooja, conducted by the temple priests. The temple also organizes various festivals and events throughout the year, such as Janmashtami, Navaratri, and Diwali.

One of the most significant festivals celebrated in the temple is the Guruvayur Ekadasi. Ekadasi is the eleventh day of the waxing and waning phases of the moon in the Hindu calendar.
